Trying out my mobile blogging. Made my appointment with Dr. Sposato. Monday November 15th at 2 p.m. Fingers crossed!

So much to process...

I joined this forum for Des Moines moms, they have been so helpful in this whole process. The last couple days I've been talking to this lady who had problems getting pregnant as well, I started talking to her about Mid Iowa and she told me to try the Iowa Health Clinic in Ankeny. I had considered that place before Mid Iowa but had such bad luck at the West Des Moines location I kind of pushed it to the back of my mind. Troy would like this doctor, she's very good looking! Haha. I think I'll call my insurance company again today and find out if she's in my network, pretty soon they're going to know me by name with as much as I've been calling!

Took my Basal temperature for the first time today, it was 97.73. That might mean more to me in a few months. This whole charting thing intimidates me, I never knew getting pregnant could be so hard!

Troy and I are taking the dogs for a walk today. It's good for me to get out...the trail we walk them on is really relaxing and helps me to clear my head.

My very first blog!

I've decided to start a blog, I need a place to store my thoughts and Facebook just isn't cutting it. For my first entry I'll start with the basics.

My husband, Troy and I met in October of 2006. I moved in with him May 2007. We were engaged February 2008 and then got married August 1, 2009. I had baby fever even before we got married, but never expressed this to Troy because...well, somethings are just best kept quiet. In September 2009 we got our first fur baby (Well, I guess our second, I got Troy a cat when we first started dating). We adopted a Brittany mix from the ARL and named her Bailey.  She is such an incredible dog, we love her to death, and for awhile she filled that baby void. Last winter one of Troy's coworkers had puppies and I knew we had to have one! In February of this year we got Lexi, she's a Shitzu mix. I totally adore her. Her and Bailey have brought us many months of pleasure and entertainment.

In May Troy and I decided to start a family. We knew there was a chance of complications. 3 years ago I stopped getting my periods so I went to my family doctor who ran some tests and then sent me to an OB/GYN. The OB/GYN (which I was not pleased with) told me I had PCOS and that all of my problems are because I'm fat and slapped me on Yaz. I later found out that this could have done more damage than good because all it does is mask the problems. In May I started looking around for a new doctor and was told about Dr. Sager so I believe it was in late June that I went to see him. Over the last few months he's run all kinds of hormone, thyroid, and sperm tests and still has not come up with any answers, in fact it's raised more questions! My hormone tests all came back normal so that has led him to believe I don't have PCOS, but he has no clue what's wrong with me. He wanted to run an HSG, which is a dye test to see if my tubes are open. Unfortunately it's not covered by insurance so now we're back to square one. Dr. Sager has been a much better doctor than my first one, he's very informative, but I always feel rushed or like he doesn't have time for me. So I have begun looking for a new doctor and believe I have found one. I'm going to try the Mid Iowa Fertility clinic, Dr Young and Dr. Cooper to see if they are able to help me any more.

I filled my Provera prescribtion today, which is a pill to induce my periods, and then I also bought my very first Basal temperature thermometer (Yay!). Until I can get in to see the doctor I am going to track my body temperatures and hopefully that will help out.
